Saber Electronic Platform:
The Saber electronic platform is a digital tool within the Product Safety Program that enables traders and local manufacturers to register their facilities and products that will be traded in Saudi market, whether they are imported or locally manufactured. It allows them to obtain the required certificates. The platform aims to reduce non-compliant products that may affect the health, safety, and environment of consumers.
Definitions of Saber Platform Services:
- Product Registration: This feature aims to enable users to add a product to the platform and save it permanently for easy selection when applying for a Certificate of Conformity.
- Certificate of Conformity Registration for Product: This procedure allows facilities to register a request for a Certificate of Conformity for products subject to technical regulations, whether they are imported or locally manufactured. They can choose a conformity assessment body to obtain the certificate.
- Consignment Certificate: A consignment Certificate of Conformity is issued for clearing the product from the country of shipment. It must be issued with each incoming shipment and includes invoice data, the number of products, and quantities. The validity of the certificate is only 60 days and expires upon clearing the shipment.
- Self-Declaration: It is a self-declaration by the facility stating that the product is not subject to technical regulations, complies with the standards, and meets the requirements of applicable legislation, without any third-party intervention.
