Laboratory of Petroleum Products

The laboratory tests apply the standard specifications and test methods for each product. The laboratory assures that the products are not fraudulent and conform to the local and international standard specifications. The laboratory is accredited in many examinations who are approved by the General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories (ISO 17025).

The Laboratory of Petroleum Products is divided into two units:

This unit supervises the petroleum products tests, such as engine oils, all kinds of fuel, cooling water, brake fluid, lubricants, and others.

The unit uses many devices to assure the products conformity to the standard specifications, such as:

  • Flashpoint measuring device.
  • Pour point determination device.
  • Foaming Characteristics determination device.
  • Sulfur measuring device.
  • Automated distillation device.
  • Determination of viscosity device at 40° and 100° degrees device.
  • Determination of viscosity at low-temperature degree device.
  • Drop Point determination device.
  • Combustion temperatures appointing device.
  • Oil-grease separation device.
  • Hydrometer.
  • Refractometer.
  • Copper strip corrosion device.

This unit detects the physical and chemical properties of varnishes, emulation, and oil paints, with the necessary examinations in this field.

The unit uses many devices to assure the products conformity to the standard specifications, such as:

  • Viscosimeter.
  • Scratch tester.
  • Elasticity testing machine.
  • Flashpoint measuring device.
  • Pencil Tester.
  • Glossmeter.
  • Transparency meter.
  • Abrasion resistance tester.
  • Grindometer.
  • Impact tester.
  • Density cups.
  • Accelerated Weathering Tester.
  • Paint application instrument.
  • Paint thickness gauge.
  • Light booth.
