SASO Participates in IEC Annual Meeting
SASO participated in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 80th General Meeting and the accompanied events held during the period Muharram 9th -13th, 1438 AH, corresponding to October 10th- 14th, 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany. The Kingdom's delegation was headed by His Excellency SASO Governor, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi.
The participation of the Kingdom in this meeting, represented by SASO and the Saudi National Electrotechnical Committee (SNEC), enables it to have a real influence on preparing the first stages of electrotechnical standard specifications and include in them the Kingdom's requirements. This step would make the national economy flourish, reduce technical barriers of trade, support and facilitate bilateral trade between the Kingdom and other countries, open new markets, achieve economic growth, upgrade the quality level of products and services, enhance production efficiency and increase the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
On the sidelines of the meeting, SASO participated in the administrative meetings of Standardization Management Board (SMB), NC Presidents' Forum, NC Secretaries' Forum and IEC Council Board.
It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by SNEC, is a full member of IEC.
