SASO and NCAR Organize Awareness Lecture for SASO employees

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) organized an awareness lecture for its employees under the title "Raising Record-Keeping Awareness" in cooperation with the National Center for Archives and Records (NCAR). The lecture was delivered on Tuesday, Muharram 22, 1440 AH, corresponding to October 22, 2018, at SASO's headquarters in Riyadh.
The lecture was presented by Abdul Mohsen bin Haddab Al-Haddab, Director General of the General Administration of Receiving and Organizing Records at NCAR. Al-Haddab reviewed the importance and objectives of record-keeping centers at government bodies. Moreover, he reviewed some important information to activate and enhance record-keeping awareness among the employees of SASO, in addition to the mechanisms of dealing properly with archives and records.
In his lecture, Al-Haddab pointed out that the Kingdom has paid great attention to this area. This is shown in the approval by the Council of Ministers earlier of the organizational arrangements for archive and record centers at government bodies. Article one of these arrangements states the establishment of a center for archives and records at the headquarters of each government body.
He clarified that the archive and record center at each government body aims to implement the archive and record system, its executive regulations and plans related to records. Each body establishes a competent department to maintain, document and classify all records in accordance with the archive and record system, its executive regulations, classification plan and the approved rules and procedures.
