SASO Organizes a Workshop on Saber at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Rabigh

          ​SASO has held an introductory workshop on Saber service for e-registration of conformity certificates to clarify the mechanism of registration and certificate issuance,  with the presence of the Director General of SASO's branch in Makkah's Region, Mr. Mutlaq bin Raji Al-Tayari, Information Technology Advisor Eng. Sultan Abu Khushaim, and Engineer Sari Al Husseini at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Rabigh on Tuesday, 24/07/1439 AH, in which a number of traders, suppliers and conformity certificate companies have participated.

          The workshop included an introduction to Saber service, a system for product registration, tracking and conformity certificates' registration, which makes it easier for importers to meet the requirements of entry into the Saudi market. The workshop was part of SASO's efforts to introduce this system before it enters the mandatory implementation phase.

          The workshop included a review of the mechanism of Saber service and its role in accelerating the clearance of upcoming shipments to the Kingdom, reducing counterfeit consumer products that affect consumer safety, in addition to raising the percentage of conforming products in the Saudi market. Moreover, it is considered one of the initiatives of the national transformation program 2020.

          This workshop is a continuation of SASO's efforts to introduce its services to suppliers and traders inside and outside the Kingdom. Earlier, several workshops were organized within the Kingdom in cooperation with the Council of Saudi Chambers, in addition to workshops that were also organized in a number of countries such as China, Egypt, the UAE and others.
