SASO and Public Security Directorate have signed a partnership agreement to activate cooperation means between them in the field of implementing quality systems, disseminating its applications, improving and developing services continuously, and raising the level of performance, considering that SASO is the official main sector that is responsible for all quality activities in the Kingdom. The agreement was signed by His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, and His Excellency the Director of Public Security, the Lieutenant General Othman bin Nasser Al-Muhrej.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony held on Thursday, Rabi al-Thani 9th, 1436 AH, corresponding to January 29th, 2015, at SASO's headquarter in Riyadh, Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi said, "SASO is very proud of the cooperation with one of the most important national bodies in the Kingdom." He praised the keenness of security sectors to implement quality standards and systems. He also confirmed that such an agreement raises the level of performance and increases the excellence rates of the provided services. Moreover, he expressed his confidence that SASO will contribute to achieving a qualitative leap in the field of quality at the Public Security through the participation of SASO technical and consultative teams in providing the necessary support for this vital body.
On the other hand, His Excellency the Lieutenant General Othman Al-Muhrej asserted the keenness of Public Security to cope with new trends in administration and to implement quality systems in a way that ensures the achievement of the strategic vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior, especially that the Public Security is about to witness a big turning point after the approach taken towards the automation of security procedures to reach the highest rates of quality and achievement to serve this country.
The partnership agreement indicates that SASO and Public Security will cooperate and coordinate continuously in setting plans required to disseminate the quality culture and different quality systems and applications in all sectors of Public Security in addition to the exchange of scientific brochures, publications, and so on in a way that serves the common interest of both parties. The cooperation and coordination between the two parties will also be in preparing related studies and research and holding and organizing conferences, meetings, and exhibitions on different quality activities, which are held by the two parties or in which they participate.
The coming period will witness holding training courses and specialized workshops for Public Security's employees to raise the awareness level of the importance of quality systems, mechanisms, and applications. SASO is also going to perform audit processes and grant the international quality certifications "ISO" to related-Public Security sectors. The agreement will also give Public Security the right to participate in the technical committees to prepare regulations and standards related to security sectors.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, a work team from both parties was formed to start developing performance and implementing quality standards at police stations. The start will be, Allah's willing, in Riyadh, Makkah, and Eastern Province.
It is worth mentioning that Public Security is considered one of the first security sectors to sign such an agreement.
