Saudi Standards signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with Saudi Accreditation Center

        His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Othman Alkasabi, the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC), Dr.Adel bin Abdulrahman Alqeid, signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance joint work between the two authorities, as part of the integration efforts between the government institutions.

        His Excellency Dr. Saad Alkasabi said that this cooperation comes as a continuation of SASO's efforts  to enhance its strategic partnerships with the relevant  authorities from government and private sectors, referring to the vital role of such agreements in developing quality infrastructure system in the Kingdom, which enhances the competitiveness of the national economy and improves the quality and safety of goods and products, and contribute to increase the efficiency of measures that aims to protect consumers.

        Dr. Adel Alqeid explained that SAC is working towards cooperation with relevant governmental and private authorities to reach a distinctive level of integration and collaborative work to increase the quality of services and products and maintain public health and safety.

        Dr. Alqeid indicated that the cooperation with SASO will include technical and scientific consultancy services and benefit from the national expertise and competencies that the two parties  have, in order to enhance quality and increase the protection level of consumers through expansion of quality and accreditation work and services. He added that SAC will continue to work on expanding cooperation and integration with all relevant authorities to support the work of SAC and enable it to perform its duties and accomplish  its national mission with high efficiency and professionalism.

       The memorandum of cooperation aims to develop a framework to enhance cooperation and integration between the two parties in the field of, technical and scientific consultancy services, and to benefit from national expertise and competencies that the two parties have to carry out the agreed-upon actions in accordance with the highest  criteria.

 

       It is stated that SAC aims to achieve competence of conformity assessment bodies, protect consumers, maintain public health and safety, and grant confidence in the services of conformity assessment bodies, in order to enhance the participation of the private sector to invest in presenting these services, as well as increase the level of quality and adequacy of services and products and increase confidence.​
