Mass Measurements

​​      The National Center for Measurement and Calibration maintains the national kilogram, which is the ninety-three version of the International Kilogram (IPK) made of platinum 90% and ardium 10% with special specifications

      ​Mass measurements and their associated quantities has a great importance for many applications in our daily life, It is practiced by laboratories, factories and the military, health and civil sectors with its various applications and levels of precision required in each of them. In this department, attention was paid to covering the basic needs of mass measurements to serve the industrial and service sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Department of Mass Measurement is divided into nine laboratories:

      It is one of the laboratories of the NMCC, which maintains the national kilogram. The laboratory calibrates standard cymbals and electronic scales as well as bridge scales, and has the following measuring capabilities.

Verification and calibration weighbridges and non-automatic weighing instruments


 


      It is one of the laboratories of the Mass Measurement Department at the NMCC. The laboratory creates and maintains national measurement standards for measuring the density of solids and liquids. The laboratory provides services for measuring the density of solid objects in the range (1g-50kg) and measuring the density of reference liquids as well as calibrating hydrometers in the range (k650kg / m³-. 2000kg / m) and has the following measuring capabilities.
