31 Specialized Working Papers within Activities of Saudi Product Safety Forum

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has revealed that the Saudi Product Safety Forum will include approximately 31 specialized working papers discussing all aspects of product safety issues in markets in addition to global mechanisms and practices in this regard.
The Forum's working papers cover a number of issues, including the legal framework and components of the product safety system. The papers also include the Saudi Product Safety Program as a pivotal initiative within the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020, product safety in the UAE, and product safety in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Moreover, the Forum reviews best practices in the design of rapid alert systems; European Union RAPEX system, RASID platform in KSA, and Manaa System in UAE.
The Forum will shed light on EU directives on the safety of public products, the general safety system for products in KSA, in addition to the development of technical regulations in the light of Vision 2030. Other issues such as accreditation and conformity assessment; UNECE initiatives on market surveillance; product safety and market surveillance in Brazil and South Korea will also be discussed.
In addition, the Saudi Product Safety Forum will review modern market surveillance systems, sampling techniques, market surveillance indicators, and risk assessment methods for consumer products, EU risk assessment tools, and Saudi experience in market surveillance.
The Forum is organized by SASO under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Trade and Investment and Chairman of SASO's BoD, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi. The Forum will be held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, in Riyadh, Sha'ban 12th-13th, 1440H (corresponding to April 17th-18th, 2019).
