Saudi-Egyptian Talks to Enhance Cooperation in the Field of Standards and Quality

The Saudi capital, Riyadh, hosted the 3rd meeting of the Saudi-Egyptian technical committee in the field of standards and metrology, over two days at the headquarters of SASO.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed means and mechanisms to enhance joint technical cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of supporting trade exchange and technical cooperation in various activities of standardization and quality.
The technical committee's meetings of the Saudi side were chaired by, HE the Governor of SASO, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, and attended by a number of deputy governors and officials of SASO in the sectors of conformity, standards, laboratories and quality. For the Egyptian side, Eng. Ashraf Afifi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality (EOS), Eng. Ismail Jaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), Dr. Amani Al-Wasal, Acting Head of the Foreign Trade Agreements Sector at the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), and a number of officials from the concerned Egyptian bodies.
These meetings are complementary to the 16th round's recommendations implementation of the Saudi-Egyptian joint committee, held in May 2018, chaired by the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi alongside the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Tariq Qabeel. These meetings witnessed the two sides stressing the need to move forward in enhancing cooperation in the fields of standards and quality between the two countries.
