"SASO" Participates in the Conference of Smart Electrical Networks in Jeddah
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) participated in the 8th Saudi Conference of Smart Electrical Networks held in Jeddah under the patronage of the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh.
During the conference, SASO reviewed its efforts in manufacturing the future of solar energy systems in the Kingdom, within the framework of SASO's concerns to deal with the challenges of future smart electrical networks through the issuance of technical standards and related technical regulations.
SASO's participation in the events of the conference witnessed an awareness lecture on the standards of solar energy systems presented by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammad Al Amoud, a consultant at SASO. During the lecture, he reviewed a number of concepts and definitions about solar energy systems, their future in the Kingdom, and the Saudi standard specifications for this sector.
The conference recommended the need to standardize the technical standards for equipment of smart networks. It also recommended the integration of renewable energy sources with power transmission networks and legislation related to electricity consumption rates under the applications of smart networks, and lessons learned from the experiences of other countries in the areas of intelligent electrical networks.
