Workshop for SASO's project managers
The Project Management Office (PMO), in collaboration with the IT Department, organized a workshop for SASO's project managers on the electronic system (EPM II) for project management, on Monday 21/1/1440 H corresponding to 1 October, 2018. It comes as part of the PMO efforts in developing the empowers and tools that contribute to facilitating the work of SASO's project managers, providing electronic solutions that help to accomplish the tasks and ensuring the capability, transparency and efficiency of performance.
The workshop included a detailed presentation of all components of the electronic system, registration steps and procedures. It also included solutions and options available in the system, to ensure the ease of registration and follow-up in the system, and the accuracy of the final inputs and outputs of all the departmental projects at SASO. The workshop also included providing adequate answers to project managers on queries and difficulties that may be encountered while dealing with this system.
The PMO is responsible for a number of tasks that include developing the governance framework in addition to finding policies and procedures for the implementation of projects. PMO tasks also include ensuring the alignment of the strategic plan of the Saudi Vision 2030 with its axes and objectives; following up and reporting the implementation of projects, and representing SASO in the Vision Realization Office (VRO) at the Ministry of Commerce & Investment. Moreover, tasks involve providing knowledge support, experience, advice and training for project managers. Furthermore, they imply developing electronic solutions and dashboards to follow the projects. Also, tasks include continuous development of the methodology of SASO in the implementation of projects, thereby reducing risks and increasing chances of successful projects.
