The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Org. (SASO), has got a new achievement after the extension of its membership in the Board of Directors of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) until 2021, after obtaining the highest voting rate in the third group of the International Organization.

This was during the participation of the Kingdom's delegation headed by HE Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, Governor of SASO, at the meetings of the ISO Week 2018, which was hosted by ISO in the Swiss capital Geneva. SASO has participated in the meeting of Council No. 107, the DIFCO meeting and the meetings of the General Assembly.

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Kasabi extended his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, may God protect him, and the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, assuring that this choice is an affirmation of the regional and global status and leadership the Kingdom holds in various fields in general and in areas of standardization in particular.

Moreover, the Governor extended thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for supporting SASO in all its activities, and to the Government for its continuous support to the activities of SASO, which in turn helps to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 in order to consolidate the Kingdom's position and leadership regionally and globally.

ISO is the largest and most important international standardization organization with 162 members. The Kingdom, represented by SASO, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of ISO for the period 2018-2020.
