International Experts Discuss Project of National Quality Strategy
The Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (SASO) hosts a number of international quality experts from the United States, Europe, South Korea and Singapore from 30 June to 02 July 2018, to discuss the project of national quality strategy after SASO launched earlier this year the harmonization project between the national quality strategy and KSA Vision 2030.
The quality experts hold a two-day workshop with the project team and specialists at SASO to review and discuss methodologies, scientific models, studies and initiatives related to the national quality strategy which were previously reviewed and prepared by the project's consultative team, with the participation of all representatives of governmental and private bodies who participated in the workshops of the project of national quality strategy held during the previous period.
The international experts' visit program will include organizing a scientific symposium on best international practices in the field of quality and institutional excellence, during which the experts will discuss their experiences and experiences of developed countries in this field.
This hosting was preceded by the organization of (26) workshops during the various stages of the project for managers and officials of quality and a number of local quality experts in the main business sectors in the Kingdom, namely health, industry, education, services and civil society sectors, to reach the outputs and mechanisms that help to promote and consolidate the practices and applications of quality in all fields of work in the Kingdom.
Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, Governor of SASO, said that this project is a continuation of the first phase of the project of national quality strategy, and in line with the Kingdom's vision of leading national programs and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of all our services and products. It also aims to enable governmental and private bodies to apply quality standards and practices.
Furthermore, he explained that SASO will work through this project to support and disseminate quality culture and applications in the target sectors for the project, and society. It will also focus on legislative requirements, identify partners and experts for each area. He added that all components and pillars of quality infrastructure are included in the final report of the strategy to highlight its role in enhancing quality in the Kingdom, in addition to building quality initiatives in the strategy based on the model of King Abdul Aziz Quality Award and highlighting the role of quality in enhancing competitiveness of national products and services.
