SASO ​and GCS Organize Workshop on National Geospatial Standards

      The General Commission for Survey (GCS(, in collaboration with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), has held a workshop under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of GCS under the title "Workshop on National Geomagnetic Standards."

      Dr. Ahmed Babader, Director of Service Standards Department at SASO, reviewed the role of standardization in raising the quality of products and services, especially standard specifications. Eng. Sulaiman Al-Eid also reviewed standards of geographic information system (GIS) and the role of SASO in international participation in ISO through ISO Tc 211.

      The workshop focused on the best ways to study and adopt standards. In addition, it searched for the best ways to raise awareness of standards and urge users to apply them. ​
