On the Sidelines of the Open Meeting with ISO President,
Al Kasabi: We Look Forward to 2030 Vision as Our Way to Build an Up-to-Date Model of Modern State

SASO has organized an open meeting with Mr. John Walter, President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), to discuss the impact of the implementation of standards on economic and social development, in the presence of a wide range of specialists and interested parties in standardization issues in the Kingdom, at the headquarters of SASO in the city of Riyadh.
Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, SASO Governor, said that ISO carries the message of building an effective international standardization system that supports trade exchange, promotes global economic and industrial growth, increases consumer safety, and enhances the applications of environment conservation and natural resources sustainability in different countries around the world.
Al Kasabi, in a speech on this occasion, said that Saudi Arabia is undergoing a historic transformation after launching its Vision 2030 and subsequent strategic programs and initiatives that have extended to all walks of life. He added, in the Kingdom, we look forward to this Vision as a way to build an up-to-date model for a modern state capable of overcoming challenges, and to achieve regional and global leadership.
He continued: we work hard in SASO for quality infrastructure system with all its elements and components to be one of the most important pillars of enabling economic and industrial growth in Saudi Arabia, through continuous efforts to complete the elements of this system; in order to be closer in line with the global developments in this field, and more able to support our developmental goals and initiatives.
Furthermore, Al Kasabi expressed his pride in the distinguished partnership between SASO and ISO, and SASO's presence as an active member of this long standing and pioneering organization. He expressed his hope to work side by side with all partners in the organization to implement its strategic initiatives to support global economic and social development. He added: we, at SASO, work with all our partners in the Kingdom to invest our membership in ISO board of directors to consolidate the adoption of international standards, promote trade exchange among the countries of the world, and improve the quality of goods and services provided to their nations.
For his part, Mr. John Walter expressed his pride in the Kingdom's efforts in the field of standards. Also, he stressed that standards are one of the most important means and enablers that contribute to the support of social and economic development, through ensuring that products and services fulfill safety and quality rates which help supporting industrial growth and development.
