SASO participates in the Occupational Safety and Health Forum

SASO has participated in the National Forum for Occupational Safety and Health, which was held in Riyadh during the period from 12 to 13 Sha'ban 1439H, corresponding to 28-29 April 2018, under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Labor and Social Development, Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis.
The participation of SASO was a working paper on "The Role of Saudi Standards in Support of Occupational Safety and Health" presented by Eng. Mshari Al-Salah from Services Standards Management at SASO, in which he highlighted the criteria which the standards are based on and the objectives of the standardization system in supporting the economy and ensuring public safety. He stressed that standards in work environment help to protect the property from the dangers of fire and explosion, chemicals, electricity and radiation, and to facilitate the design and efficiency of products and services and ensure their safety. In addition, the standards help evaluating the quality of trade and transactions, and finding scientific evidences for the development of safety management systems such as food safety, occupational health and safety, and others.
In addition, SASO participated in an awareness pavilion, in which it reviewed some of its efforts in the field of supporting and enhancing occupational safety and health, and providing advices and clarifications on the role of standards in supporting safety in work environment.
The Minister of Labor has honored SASO as one of the distinguished partners in organizing this specialized forum, appreciating the role of SASO in supporting occupational safety and health.
