SASO organizes an introductory workshop for traders and importers in the UAE

SASO has organized a workshop for importers to introduce its services such as Saudi Quality Mark, GCC Conformity Mark for electrical products, and IECEE Certificate for electrotechnical products. The workshop was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a wide participation of more than 150 people working in the field of importation and exportation of goods and products to the Saudi market.

The workshop also included the introduction of "Saber" E-system for conformity, which is a system for registration and tracking of products and certificates of conformity, which makes it easier for importers to meet the Saudi market entry requirements, in the framework of SASO's efforts to introduce this system before it enters the mandatory implementation stage.

Furthermore, the workshop reviewed the mechanism of "Saber" system and its role in accelerating the clearance of the upcoming shipments to the Kingdom, and in reducing counterfeit consumer products that affect consumer safety, in addition to raising the proportion of the conforming products in the Saudi market, which is one of the initiatives of the National Transformation Program 2020.

This workshop is a continuation of the efforts of SASO to introduce its services to suppliers and traders inside and outside the Kingdom, where several workshops were held in the Kingdom in collaboration with the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC), in addition to workshops that were also organized in a number of countries such as China, Egypt, the UAE, etc.

SASO has expressed its hope that its efforts will contribute to the development of product tracking processes, reduction of counterfeiting and manipulation of conformity certificates for different products, and upgrading the rate of goods- in the market- conforming to the standards, in line with the objectives of the Saudi Product Safety Program.
