SASO's branch in the Eastern Province participated, for a week, in the activities of the accompanying exhibition of World Civil Defense Day, held under the slogan "Educational Institutions and Safety Culture," under the patronage of HRH Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of the Eastern Province. On behalf of HRH the Governor of the Eastern Province, Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, launched it.
SASO's participation was part of the cooperation efforts between SASO and competent authorities to work on raising the level of awareness among the community and establishing the importance of compliance and adherence to Saudi standard specifications at relevant bodies and organizations.
SASO's pavilion had an active role in spreading and raising awareness, in addition to introducing visitors to SASO's activities during the days of the exhibition. This also included distributing publications about electrical sockets and outlets; electrical power strips; heater types and how to plug them using power strips; and other electric heaters.
His Highness the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province visited the pavilion on the sidelines of the exhibition. During the visit, the Deputy Director General of SASO's branch, Waleed bin Hussein Al-Najem, presented a brief description about SASO's activities. He explained in detail the role SASO plays, along with the Civil Defense, in reducing accidents and fires through technical regulations and application of Saudi Building Code. The Deputy Governor praised the efforts exerted by SASO to serve the nation and its pioneering role in consumer protection.
