SASO has invited specialists and interested parties to view and participate in the technical regulation draft for the classification of vehicle maintenance centers, which SASO is currently preparing for formal adoption and application. This comes in light of SASO's keenness to develop regulatory frameworks that improve the quality of products and services in the Saudi market and raise the level of performance in the vehicle maintenance sector in the Kingdom.

     SASO explained that this regulation aims to identify basic requirements for the facilities operating in vehicle maintenance sector, and determine conformity assessment procedures that establishments must comply with, and the procedures for their classification. This is done to ensure achieving an acceptable level of service, environmental preservation, vehicle safety, consumer health and facility personnel.

     SASO welcomed all comments and views requesting specialists and interested persons to send their views before March 18th, 2018 at a.muharib@saso.gov.sa​ .
