​SASO, the General Directorate of Civil Defense and the Ministry of Trade and Investment have called upon conformity assessment bodies, which have the potential to cover areas such as (fire protection materials, equipment and devices; elevators and escalators; amusement park games; steam boilers and pressure vessels; gas cylinders and tanks; appliances operating on gas; gas networks in buildings; and external facades of buildings), to apply at SASO to be accepted and then to be appointed by the Ministry of Trade and Investment so that they can conduct conformity assessment procedures such as product certification, examination and inspection. 

  This comes within the framework of government efforts to activate the role of the private sector in accordance with Vision 2030 and initiatives of the National Transformation Program 2020.

  Legislative and supervisory authorities are exerting continuous efforts to prevent the circulation or use of products that don’t conform to technical regulations issued by SASO, in order to ensure the efficiency of conformity assessment bodies and to protect consumers.
