Memorandum of Technical Cooperation between SASO and the Tasnee
SASO has signed a memorandum of technical cooperation in the field of scientific research; the transfer and localization of science; and the adoption of joint research projects that may contribute to the development and promotion of sustainable national development. The memorandum was signed by Eng. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Qahtani, Deputy Governor of SASO, and Eng. Mutlaq Bin Hamad Al Moraished, CEO of Tasnee.
The memorandum of cooperation, between SASO and Tasnee, aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in areas of standardization, quality and calibration to achieve the national strategic objectives. Moreover, it aims at transferring and localizing science and technology, in the standardization activities. Also, the memorandum tends to maintain development of standardization activities and qualify technical competencies in order to enhance competitiveness.
The memorandum also included the activation of technical cooperation in preparing, reviewing and updating technical standards and regulations in order to build trust in standards issued by SASO and provide technical consultations in quality management systems.
SASO is working to strengthen cooperation with all governmental and private sectors concerned with supporting strategic objectives of standardization and activities that fall under it such as standards, measurement, calibration, laboratories, quality and others.
