His Excellency the Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, said that quality is one of the most important pillars in nations' development and progress, pointing out that many countries have been able to achieve industrial development and economic growth through the adoption of strategies and applications of quality in various business sectors. This came during a speech by His Excellency on SASO's celebration of World Quality Day, at its headquarters in Riyadh, and in the presence of a large number of specialists and those interested in quality and its applications.

     "With the ambitious Vision of the Kingdom 2030, and with the rapid development of our strategic initiative, we have no choice but to invest in this opportunity and strive to be the building blocks to achieve the best levels, and reach excellence and creativity in all our, private and public, economic sectors," Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi added.

     The activities included presenting many working papers, which started with Eng. Saud bin Mohammad Al Shabanat, Director of Technical Consultancy Center at SASO, who presented a lecture entitled "The Importance of Leadership in the Application of Quality Management Systems." Also, "Leadership Standard in Institutional Excellence" was the title of the working paper presented by Dr. Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al-Muhaimeed, Chairman of the Center for Leadership Studies.

     In addition, the celebration, of World Quality Day, included presenting a working paper by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Muta'ab Al-Shattawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Company, during which he spoke about the "Competence Characteristics of 2030 Leader". The Director of the Center for Studies and Research at SASO, Dr. Mas'ad bin Moati Al-Mutairi, presented a working paper entitled "Methodology of Risk-Based Thinking as a Requirement of ISO 9001". SASO concluded the activities of World Quality Day with a working paper by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Heijan, member of the Shura Council, entitled "TQM between Reality and Challenge".
