SASO: Filling Vehicle Fuel Tank Completely Does Not Represent Any Danger


     SASO has confirmed that there is no danger in filling up a vehicle's fuel tank completely. It explained that what is being traded recently in social media may be because of a defect in the tank. This came in an awareness message SASO has published on its official account on "Twitter".


     ​SASO has also clarified that the Saudi Technical Regulation (SASO GSO 42) stipulates that a vehicle's fuel tank shall be designed where a space of 2.5% is kept empty, pointing out that a vehicle's fuel tank cannot be fully filled (literally). It affirmed that filling the tank up to the permitted limit in standard specifications does not represent any danger as vehicles' fuel tanks are designed to withstand the maximum temperature and pressure, under normal conditions, and are equipped with valves to ease pressure to discharge fuel in order to create a state of balance within..
