 SASO's Makkah branch celebrates world metrology day 

 

     SASO's Makkah branch celebrates World Metrology Day, through a workshop organized in cooperation with the Saudi Quality Council (SQC) in the Western Region, under the slogan Measurements for Transport .

     The workshop started with a speech by His Excellency the Governor of SASO, delivered on his behalf by the Director General of SASO's Makkah branch , Mr. Mutlaq bin Raji Al Tayari, in which he explained that the selection of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) , the slogan " Measurements for Transport " to be the title of the celebration and a space to shed more light on the efforts of national standardization organizations in this vital sector . He continued : "this comes at a time when transport technologies are witnessing major developments through reliance on alternative energy sources and efforts to reduce environmental pollution from vehicle exhausts. In addition, there are concentrated efforts to shift towards electric and hybrid cars, hoping of reducing the negative environmental impacts of modern means of transport .

    The workshop activities continued with various participations by the president of the Saudi Quality Council (SQC), Ayed Al Amri and a number of attendees and participants .

    It is worth mentioning that SASO celebrated World Metrology Day through three workshops at SASO's headquarters in Riyadh and its branches in the eastern and western regions. The celebration was with the participation of selected specialists and those interested in measurement and calibration issues inside and outside the Kingdom.
