His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, headed the 48th meeting of the High Consultative Committee for Standardization, at the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO), which was held in Rabat, capital of Morocco. His Excellency stressed on the importance of focusing government efforts, in both Arab countries, to promote economic incentives and strategic potentials that can ensure achieving real sustainable development which drives national economies to a more active and effective stage.

Dr. Al-Kasabi said that unified Arab standards contribute to the increase of inter-Arab trade exchange and the success of Greater Arab Free Trade Area. He clarified that the most important challenge facing the standardization activity, in general, is finding qualified human capital able to participate effectively in all related activities.

The great responsibility lies in speeding up initiatives to standardize unified Arab standards' projects to strengthen the ability of Arab industries to compete in international markets, and to strengthen professional and scientific capabilities of Arab human capital working in the field of standardization.
