In Presence of H.E. the Governor... SASO Celebrates International Accreditation for (73) Tests
General Administration of Laboratories celebrated completing the first stage of the project for the accreditation of SASO laboratories, in accordance with the requirements of the International Standard (ISO / IEC 17025/2005), after (73) tests have obtained international accreditation. Celebration took place in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, deputies and directors-general. The celebration comes as a motivation to move forward in completing the strategic project of SASO; to strengthen its technical capabilities and obtain international accreditation for all its tests.
Among SASO's strategic targets, in operations, was strengthening technical capabilities in which SASO has achieved satisfactory success rates. Achievement rate, in the number of tests adopted annually, exceeded earlier plans, as SASO obtained the accreditation of (73) tests while it planned to get it for (50) tests only.
During this year, laboratory sector has completed running quality and specialized laboratories in the field of energy-efficiency for air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines. In addition, it has witnessed launching the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and running the first stage of Sanitary and Plumbing Laboratory, which SASO aspires to have, among the (10) best laboratories around the world in this area. Moreover, the first stage of the project to qualify laboratories in occupational health and safety, in accordance with the requirements of (OHASA 18001), has been completed. Currently, the project of establishing a laboratory on the efficiency of thermal insulation in buildings is being implemented.
