Through an Infographic Video.. SASO Confirms: Safety Grids Prevent People from Falling in Sewage Manholes
SASO confirmed that the Saudi standard has accurately identified the safety means mechanisms, manufacturing standards and testing methods of manhole covers, storm water drainage, and their frames, according to approved national and international standards.
SASO indicated through an awareness video clip published through its accounts on social media that Saudi standards emphasized the need to provide covers with safety grids, for manholes designed for use in ground water tanks and septic tanks, made from the same material as the cover and frame, to prevent objects from falling inside.
SASO noted that the standard has classified the covers and manholes of storm water drainage and their frames according to their usage location, as some are only used in pedestrian and bicycle areas, while others are used in footpaths and similar spaces and parking lots. In addition, there are specific covers use for ground water tanks and septic tanks and other purposes. SASO explained that the consumer can learn more about this by reading the explanatory information noted on the manholes to ensure their conformity with Saudi standards.
