Arab Agreement to Include Standardization Activities in Educational Curricula, Within the Recommendations of the Community Partnership Support Workshop in Riyadh
Discussions included in the workshop "Upholding Community Partnership, Society Service and Sustainable Development for Standardization Activities", which was held for two days at SASO, resulted in several recommendations that will enrich joint work in the field of standardization and sustainable development activities.
Participants in the workshop recommended developing an electronic system for quality and standardization, which allows all concerned Arab authorities to interact and coordinate to add scientific topics that deal with standardization activities in educational curricula of various educational stages, academic plans and concerned training departments' strategies. In addition, there were recommendations to sign agreements between Arab, regional and international organizations and academic sectors, in order to achieve sustainable development of standardization activities and encourage Arab universities to establish scientific chairs in the name of community partnership and social responsibility. Furthermore, participants called for benefiting from the experience of Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (Social Responsibility Bank), and requested AIDMO to circulate this experience in Arab countries, in order to enrich knowledge and localize it.
The workshop was organized by SASO in collaboration with AIDMO under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kasabi. The workshop was attended by His Excellency Minister of Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail. Many Arab participants from standardization organizations, educational sectors, academic sectors and service sectors took part in the workshop.
About 300 participants from various public and private sectors (academic, industrial and social) took part in the events of the workshop. The topics of the workshop focused on standardization activities and their impact on sustainable development, community partnerships and the role of education in development and community service. Moreover, topics included standardization, quality and sustainability of business sector projects, in addition to training and development; a sustainable institutional development (standardization and quality), and community experiences and practices in the field of entrepreneurship.
