Memorandum of Technical Cooperation between "SASO" and "Technical and Vocational Training Corporation"
SASO has signed a memorandum of joint technical cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) , with the aim of localizing and transferring sciences, technology and knowledge. Also, to promote research and studies, and qualify and train technical personnel and competencies, in order to raise competitiveness in the activities of SASO and TVTC, and enhance integration with partners. The agreement was signed by His Excellency, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, Governor of SASO , and His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Bin Fahad Al-Fuhaid, Governor of TVTC.
Dr. Saad Al-Kasabi said that SASO finds great pride in collaborating with one of the most distinguished national institutions. He added, TVTC is highly depended on in supporting the national shift towards qualifying the citizens of this country, and localizing knowledge and technology. He pointed out that the purpose of this memorandum is to frame cooperation between the two parties, to integrate roles and achieve constant coordination between parties, in order to put plans required to develop standardization, quality and calibration, and to prepare standard specifications and technical Saudi regulations. Furthermore, he praised the prominent role of TVTC in training and qualifying human resources, and in preparing them to participate in developing advanced training programs, for workforce development, offered by the institution.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Fuhaid stressed that the agreement comes within the framework of the efforts undertaken by TVTC in the field of training and qualifying national manpower and preparing them to contribute to national development. He also pointed out that TVTC is working in integration with various government sectors, which resulted in training more than (40) thousand employees in ministries, institutions and government organizations during the past period, through specialized training programs in various fields, presented in colleges and technical institutes in various regions of the Kingdom.
SASO and TVTC are working through this agreement to transfer and localize standardization activities, quality systems and calibration in the field of related activities between both parties. Also, to transfer knowledge and scientific studies and research, in addition to activating joint technical cooperation in the field of preparing, reviewing and updating standards and technical regulations, to enhance confidence in Saudi standard specifications and technical regulations issued by SASO, for all services related to the institution.
