Winners of King Abdulaziz Quality Award: It Has a Positive and Significant Role in Promoting Quality Applications in the Kingdom
 

     Officials of the enterprises winning King Abdulaziz Quality Award in its third cycle, have paid tribute to the standards followed in the various activities and programs of the award, which are similar to what is accredited in national quality worldwide awards. They pointed out that the award has a positive and significant role in the dissemination of quality culture among public and private enterprises in Saudi Arabia. The award encourages them to raise the quality of services and products offered and to achieve organizational excellence, which is in the national interest. In addition, they expressed their honor and pride of winning the award of their enterprises especially it carries the name of the Founder, and has the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

     For his part, Dr. Khaled bin Mekiemen Al Sebaiay, CEO specialized Medical Center Hospital - a winner enterprise of KAQA Award in its third cycle for private hospitals with a capacity of more than 100 beds –has said that the award has contributed in strengthening the overall quality concepts of the companies and institutions. In addition, it has contributed in raising their competitiveness in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has been achieved by the support given to this award by officials and those who are in charge of.

     Al Sebaiay, explained that it is not just an Award that institutions seek to obtain, it is an integrated program seeking the active contribution in the development of public and private institutions by finding the human resources, with outstanding skills, knowledge, behavior and the ability to achieve overall satisfaction for all clients. He stressed that giving such awards has significant benefits, as evidences suggest that the winning enterprises of quality awards achieved high levels of success on a large scale. As a result, it has been proved by several international studies the impact of that on the practical and professional long-term results of the  enterprises winning quality awards; pointing out that participation in quality programs and awards  helps enterprises to develop a better understanding of what needs to be done and how.

     Mr. Khalid Al Khowaiter, President and CEO Advanced Electronics Company- a winner for large production enterprises category at the third cycle of the Award, has expressed honor and pride of the company for achievements , noting that King Abdulaziz Quality Award did not come to fill the void. However, it is parallel with the Government's interest in the deployment of quality culture and applying quality standards controlling the product and service that keep pace with the latest quality management theories and apply the highest standards and are similar to what is accredited in the highest international awards such as the European quality Award, Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA). He has appreciated the effort of SASO and the General Secretariat of  KAQA in adopting, organizing, continuing, and developing the award,  in order to achieve its important goals to best performance of enterprises by spreading the quality culture, opening the door to fair competition, applying best management concepts, and confirming  the scientific methodology, which lead to work development in all sectors.

     Al Khowaiter explained that the successes achieved by the leading national companies especially large production enterprises through notable awards and certificates and reaching high levels of quality,  are in favor of the country, and promote economic status globally. He pointed out that large enterprises are in front of a historical and professional responsibility to keep up the level of the country's plans and of the Kingdom Vision (2030), and  to keep pace with the national transformation program.

     In his turn, Mr. Musaed Mohammad Al Mineefi, CEO of  the Saudi Investment Bank - the winner of KAQA in its third cycle for  the large service enterprises category, has praised the criteria of KAQA describing it as high and accurate. It encourages the enterprises participating  and  interested in the events and programs of the award to achieve organizational excellence and encourage best practices in the field of quality, noting that the award is working to assess the strengths and weaknesses of all the participating enterprises, depending on the concepts and applications of performance measurement and continuous improvement of works.

     Eng. Eman Al Mazain, head of Risk and Quality, Dr. Soleiman Fakeeh Hospital - a winner enterprise of KAQA in its third cycle for  hospitals with a capacity of more than 100 beds, has said: no doubt we are all proud of the existence of a national Award honoring enterprices that meet the highest quality standards and in particular it carries the Founder name, King Abdulaziz, may Allah lighten his stay in earth. In addition, the assessment criteria of the Award is high and typical, especially as it assists enterprises neutrally and according to pure scientific principles and criteria as give an honest assessment of the level of performance and efficiency of enterprises, as well as it  creates  a situation of effective and necessary competition to encourage hospitals for further updating,  excellence and development.

     Al Mazain added that winning King Abdulaziz Quality Award gives us more confidence in the hospital efficiency and its staff, and more pride of the classification of the capabilities and performance of the hospital compared to other competitive health institutions. In addition, winning means- for us- an improvement to the level of excellence and starting to run in competitions all over the Kingdom, which is a motivation  to persevere and continue to apply the highest Quality standards.

     Al Mazain has pointed out that the quality awards play a motivational,  interactive and educational role, as help raising awareness of the importance of excellence and development, and enrich the acquisition of knowledge of quality standards in all medical and administrative areas. Furthermore, the awards assess the level of performance, and create a spirit of ideal competition between health enterprises, in order to apply the conditions and standards of the award and seek winning.

     In the same context,  Dr. Haifa Jamal Allail, president of Effat University - winner of KAQA in its third cycle for the category of private higher education enterprises, has expressed the university's honor and pride of winning King Abdulaziz Quality Award, especially as it is the first university that achieves this award; noting that this coronation is a result of the outcome of years of planning and making efforts that elevated the university to this level. Reaching this level has become a big responsibility for the university in order to maintain this performance and excellence, and also to have a sense of responsibility towards women's education community.

      Dr. Haifa has appreciated King Abdulaziz Quality Award for its efforts in the interest to improve the performance of enterprises and upgrading their services and local products and to enable them to the regional and global competition. The existence of an institution dedicated to examine and evaluate the quality of enterprises, opens the door for competition among several institutions, and that will be an incentive to be keen to reach a high level of quality, and upgrading the level of services and local products and enabling them to go in regional and global competition.
