SASO Receives Certificate of Merit from World Customs Organization
SASO received the Certificate of Merit from World Customs Organization (WCO) for 2015, on the International Customs Day (ICD). This comes in recognition of its outstanding services to the international customs community through its fruitful cooperation with the Saudi Customs in 2015.
For his part, the Governor of SASO, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi expressed that " SASO is proud of the complementary relationship, cooperation and coordination between SASO and Saudi Customs", stressing his confidence that these relations contribute to strengthening the control system in the Kingdom and reducing the leakage of non-conforming goods and products.
"SASO's receiving of the Certificate of Merit, from the World Customs Organization, was an extension of SASO's keenness on protecting Saudi consumer and market from poor and non-conforming products to Saudi standards in order to achieve the objectives of economic development of the Kingdom," Al-Kasabi added.
It is worth mentioning that the Certificate of Merit is awarded to bodies that contribute the most to facilitating trade and providing services to smooth it. This certificate is awarded during the ICD.
