Bangladesh Industry Minister Visits SASO
His Excellency the Minister of Industry of Bangladesh Mr. Amir Hussain Amu, and the Director General of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Mr. Iqramul Haque has visited SASO. During their visit, topics of mutual interest have been discussed. Furthermore, there has been a signing ceremony for the technical cooperation program (TCP), between SASO and BSTI. This is in order to facilitate and develop trade between the two countries, coordinate and unify stances in international forums, confirm the quality of imported and exported goods, eliminate technical barriers of trade and ensure the consumer's safety.
For his part, Governor of SASO Dr. Saad bin Othman Alkasabi assured that the cooperation between the Kingdom and the Republic of Bangladesh in the field of standards and specifications would promote and facilitate trade exchange between the Kingdom and Bangladesh and protect consumers from non-conforming goods and products.
On the other hand, Minister of Industry of Bangladesh, Mr. Amir Hussain Amu has praised the outstanding level SASO has reached in the field of adopting Saudi standard specifications, derived from the international regulation applied by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), hoping to benefit from the expertise and experience of the Kingdom in the areas of specifications and standards, consumer protection and national industry support.
Director General of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Mr. Iqramul Haque said: "The visit of the Bangladesh delegation comes in light of the Kingdom's reputation in the Arab region and internationally in the field of standards and specifications, in addition to the great efforts SASO makes in order to raise the quality level of products, services and performance in the Kingdom, through adopting the best international standards and cooperating with relevant international, Arab and Islamic organizations."
