SASO Reviews with KCL the Establishment of Laboratories and Energy Efficiency Programs
Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi, SASO's governor, met on Wednesday, Jumada al-Awwal 15th, 1437 AH, corresponding to February 24th, 2016, with the South Korea's Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Kwon Pyung-oh, at SASO headquarters in Riyadh. The two parties discussed ways of cooperation in the fields of standardization, programs and regulations on standards and quality, projects of energy consumption rationalization and issues of common concern.
The governor of SASO also met with an official Korean delegation headed by the president of the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL). During the visit, the most important activities provided in the fields of standardization, quality and laboratories and the programs of consumption of energy-efficient lighting products were reviewed.
The visit shed light on the most important contributions exerted in the fields of the establishment of laboratories and on the most important experiences with regard to the establishment of chargers and batteries laboratories, as well as thermal insulation products.
SASO has previously signed construction contract for energy efficiency laboratory for air conditioners with Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) of the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS). The contract includes insuring the necessary test equipment to ensure conformity of imported and locally manufactured air conditioners with the requirements of the updated Saudi standard specification no. SASO (2663/2012) for energy efficiency label.
Furthermore, SASO has signed agreements with KTL and KCL of the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) to establish energy efficiency laboratory for washers and refrigerators and a laboratory for insulation materials for buildings.
