Indonesian Delegation Visits SASO and Reviews its Experience in the Field of Issuing Specifications
A delegation from the Indonesian National Standards Body headed by the Director General, Prof. Bambang Prasetya, and His Excellency Former Minister of Research and Technology, Prof. Gusti Muhammad, visited SASO, within the framework of activating joint international cooperation programs between SASO and its counterparts in the various countries of the world. The delegation included a number of senior officials and professionals in standardization and quality in Indonesia. The delegation was received by His Excellency the Governor, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, and a number of senior officials at SASO.
The delegation began the visit by reviewing SASO's efforts in the field of standardization and specifications, and their effective role in supporting the national economy and industry by approving over 28 thousand Saudi standard specifications in addition to keeping those specifications up with the global economic and industrial variables.
Furthermore, the two sides discussed opportunities of joint cooperation and mutual support in this field for the interest of both parties and to strengthen the bonds between the two countries in the field of standards and quality.
Governor of SASO expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Indonesian delegation for their great keenness to activate joint cooperation and mutual relations between the two standardization bodies in the two countries, welcoming every opportunity to share experiences and provide technical support for human resources.
On the other hand, the director of the Indonesian National Standards Body highly valued the welcoming they received from SASO. He also expressed his great appreciation for Saudi Arabia and its excellent efforts in the field of Saudi standard specifications, stressing his determination to move forward in raising the level of mutual cooperation between SASO and the Indonesian standards body. Moreover, he expressed his pleasure for the advanced technical level of SASO's laboratories, pointing out that this reflects the advanced rate of development and the attention given to Saudi standards.
