SASO and Jeddah Chamber Discuss Standards Role in Developing Exports
A delegation from Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by the businessman Mr. Nasser Basahel, a member of Export Development Committee, discussed with Mr. Mutlaq bin Raji Al-Tayari, the General Director of SASO's branch in Makkah, the standards role in developing exports, with the attendance of a number of officials from the branch and chamber.
At the start of meeting, Mr. Al-Tayari welcomed the delegation, noting the vital role played by Saudi standards, if followed, in developing exports of businessmen. He also confirmed that conformity of goods to standards is like a passport for any goods in international markets. He indicated that one of the most important goals of SASO is to support the national economy and industry and to push them towards greater international economic competitiveness.
For his part, the businessman Mr. Nasser Basahel extended his thanks, on behalf of Jeddah Chamber and its businessmen, to SASO. Further, he appreciated the procedures taken by SASO to prepare and update Saudi standards that facilitate exporting goods and products abroad, which in turn save time and efforts for businessmen and raise the economic position of the Kingdom in international markets.
The two parties agreed to move forward in raising awareness of businessmen of standards' role in supporting their projects and pushing the national economy forward to reach a more excellent position in addition to providing high rates of consumer's security and safety.
