SASO launches the second phase of the National Strategy project for quality in a specialized workshop
SASO continued its efforts in the implementation of the Royal vision of quality in the Kingdom in 2020, by starting the second phase of the National Strategy program for quality, and by organizing the first specialized workshop to measure the readiness of quality and organizational excellence in the business segments in the Kingdom, during the period 2-4 Safar corresponding to the current 24-26 November, 2014.
SASO started this phase from the National Strategy project for quality by inviting different sectors to activate communication between SASO and these institutions , in order to reach a final form to achieve total quality in the work ,activities, products and services of various sectors in the Kingdom and to check the needs of these sectors.
Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, SASO's Governor, said that the National Strategy project for Quality is important and vital for the economy and growth of the Kingdom. This comes as a continuation to the efforts of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - God protect him - considering that launching King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz's vision for Quality in the Kingdom in 2020 is a historic turning point and a fundamental starting point in the process of quality and its implementation in Saudi Arabia.
His Excellency the Governor, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Eng. Fawzi Bin Hassan Hakim, Deputy Governor for Standards and Quality, said that the National Strategy project for quality is an ambitious vision that stimulates to reach world-class level in excellence, in order for the Saudi citizen to enjoy the security, safety, economic and social development, stressing the need for constructive participation of everyone in achieving that vision through clear work plans and specific goals.
Eng. Hakim noted that SASO has developed many operational programs and plans, in order to contribute in achieving quality in national products and services. In addition to the development of many regulations, procedures and awards in the field of quality, noting that these events are part of a complete system supervised by SASO to reach actual achievement of the national strategy for quality.
SASO has launched a while ago a series of seminars and introductory workshops within the National Strategy project for Quality in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province. A very large number of officials and employees of government and private institutions has participated in them. Institutions involved in this project were classified into seven sectors; the governmental sector, the higher education, the public education, in addition to the health sector, industry sector, services' sector and the civil society organizations. This facilitates the classification of the needs of each sector, and provides plans and programs that contribute to the activation and stabilization of quality applications in the products and services for these sectors.
It is noteworthy that SASO will organize a similar workshop in the period from 23th-25th Safar 1436 AH, corresponding to December 15th-17th 2014.
