3 Workshops in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah to Introduce Control Mechanism on Energy-Efficiency Label
SASO organizes, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Customs, three workshops to train regulatory bodies on control mechanisms regarding energy-efficiency labels for air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. The workshops will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at SASO's headquarters in Riyadh; on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in Dammam; and will conclude on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Jeddah.
The arrangement of such workshops comes as part of SASO's keenness to provide regulatory bodies and technical teams with required information and mechanisms to achieve highest market control rates when sampling and dealing directly with goods and products. In addition, it enables those teams to discover cases of manipulation and contribute effectively to market control.
This step complements SASO's efforts in updating Saudi standard specifications related to air-conditioners, which are expected to greatly contribute to supporting the Kingdom's strategies towards rationalizing energy consumption.
