SASO Hosts Traveling Exhibit to Raise Awareness of Latest Energy-Efficient Lighting Systems
SASO hosted, at its headquarters in Riyadh, on Monday, Safar 2, 1436 AH, corresponding to November 24, 2014, an awareness raising traveling exhibit, held by General Electric (GE) to introduce energy-efficient LED lighting technologies, which included several new technologies and innovative solutions in this field.
Specialists of the exhibit presented a brief introduction about new lighting systems that provide up to 70% reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional systems in addition to their longevity which could be up to ten years. These solutions cover lighting systems in residential and commercial sectors.
The host of this exhibit came from the great care SASO takes of energy consumption rationalization, in coordination and integration with other relevant bodies. During the past two years, the Board of SASO approved more than 23 technical regulations and Saudi standards for energy-efficiency initiatives; the most prominent of which was the update of air-conditioners' energy-efficiency label. The actual implementation of some of these regulations and standards has started this year, 2014.
It's said that the exhibit will visit major cities in the Kingdom to introduce new products in lighting systems.
