SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This standard specifies requirements for materials, quality, performance, and functional and connecting dimensions for vitreous China western water-closet pans whether they are wall-hung or floor-mounted.
One of the most important points defined by the standard (Mandatory Technical Regulation) is to determine the volume of water consumption:
When tested in accordance with the Saudi standard No. 1474/2014, the average of total flush volumes obtained shall not exceed:
(a) 3.0 Lpf for floor-mounted western water closets; and
(b) 4.0 Lpf for wall-hung western water closet.
Therefore, we hope that all manufacturers, traders, and importers not to produce or import any western closets without ensuring their conformity to the accredited Saudi Standard starting from 1/8/1436 AH, corresponding to 20/5/2015.
