SASO Completes Discussing The Challenges Facing The Private Laboratories In The Field Of Accreditation
SASO has continued efforts to discuss the challenges facing the private laboratories in the field of dependence, by organizing a workshop on Tuesday 8 Rabi' I 1436 AH, corresponding to 30 December 2014 at its headquarter in Riyadh.
SASO, represented by the Saudi Accreditation Committee ( SAC), has confirmed on the need to continue the efforts to find out seriously the real challenges facing the private laboratories in the field of accreditation in the kingdom. In addition, the legal and procedural problems faced, to get to a comprehensive framework vision on the development of private laboratories system in the field of accreditation.
For his part, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, Governor of SASO- Chairman of (SAC), he said that this workshop was an extension of the first workshop held in early 2014. The workshop has discussed the private laboratories Law issued by Royal Decree No. M / 3 on the date of 08/02/1423 AH, and came up with many of recommendations, outputs and a set of realistic challenges. We all, at government and private bodies, look to those sets to be resolved in order that the Kingdom witnesses a quantum leap in the field of accreditation, especially in light of the growing need and increasing demand for private sector services in the field of inspection and testing.
Dr. Al Kasabi has confirmed that SASO, represented by( SAC), promote strongly in the direction of private laboratories support to undertake a more vital role in the accreditation and testing activities. The role also is to ease the burden on the relevant government bodies in the framework of the strategic partnership and integration between the public and private sectors.
It is noteworthy that SAC is one of the specialized committees of SASO, which is chaired by His Excellency the Governor of SASO with membership representatives of a number of ministries, government bodies and the private sector. SAC mission is about proposing policies for accreditation activities, as well as granting, renewal , stop , withdraw, expand and reduce the scope of accreditation for each of the certification bodies, inspection and laboratories. In addition, proposing regulations of laboratories accreditation, certificates donors and inspection agencies, and also the application of mutual recognition agreements in this area.
