Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, SASO participated with a number of government and private bodies in celebrating the 31st Gulf Traffic Week, which was held at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, under the slogan "Your decision .. determines your destiny ".

SASO had a pavilion to raise the level of awareness, among all segments of society, of the importance of adherence to Saudi standards when buying motor vehicles, spare parts and tires. SASO cared, through such participation, about raising awareness of salvage cars that are imported and represent a real threat to the life and safety of users.

SASO, through its participation in such events, raises awareness of traffic safety by adhering to Saudi standards, issued by SASO, in the field of vehicles and tires.  SASO gives the auto sector great care to provide the highest safety and quality requirements  in "new and used" imported cars to preserve lives and properties, and reduce traffic accidents and injuries caused by them.

SASO has issued more than 400 Saudi standards and 91 technical regulations for motor vehicles, tires and spare parts, in line with the latest international technical regulations for developed countries in the auto industry; such as "the US Federal Regulations," which is considered one of the most important references, for being the most stringent in terms of safety. Also, the technical regulations issued by the European Economic Commission WP29, which all industrialized countries as well as the Kingdom work to comply with, taking into account the climatic conditions.
