SASO and Saudi Society for Quality (SSQ) have signed an agreement of mutual cooperation as part of their efforts to enhance and encourage cooperation between them in the field of quality, including its systems, applications, rewards, practices and strategies. The announcement of that came during the signing ceremony of the cooperation memorandum between the two parties held today, Sunday, Rabi' al-Thani 26th, 1436 AH, corresponding to February 15th, 2015, at SASO's headquarter in Riyadh. The signing ceremony was headed by His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, and the Chairman of SSQ, Eng. Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, and attended by a number of officials from both parties.
The Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi, confirmed SASO's keenness, as it is the official sector responsible of quality in the Kingdom, to move forward in activating quality practices through effective partnerships with all public and private sectors to disseminate the quality culture in all fields. He also referred to the project of the national strategy of quality implemented by SASO, which aims at achieving the royal vision to make the Kingdom a global standard for quality and excellence by 2020.
Dr. Al-Kasabi affirmed the keenness of SASO and SSQ to cooperate and integrate their efforts. Further, he asserted that cooperation between public and private sectors is the optimal method to achieve an effective influence that meets the expectations of all interests and specialists of quality and its activities.
For his part, Eng. Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, the Chairman of SSQ, expressed his thanks to SASO and the governor for the honest intentions to cooperate and support the activities of SSQ. He pointed out that such cooperation will contribute a lot to the support of quality and will expand and disseminate the quality culture and its applications in all public and private sectors in the Kingdom. He also confirmed that SSQ will make its utmost efforts to benefit from that qualitative partnership in a way that supports trends of interests and specialists of quality activities and achieves the vision of leaders, Allah preserve them, in this regard.
SASO and SSQ agreed on exchanging expertise in quality-related issues according to their common goals stipulated in the policy of each, in addition to exchanging scientific prints, programs, plans, references, bibliographies, encyclopedias, media materials and other materials.
The two parties asserted, during the signing ceremony of the agreement, their cooperation in the field of launching joint training, education and research programs in quality areas and in the field of holding conferences, symposiums, discussion sessions and workshops. They also pledged to make more efforts to exchange expertise with researchers and specialists in addition to supporting and encouraging scientific activities at concerned universities, associations and institutes and giving the opportunity to researchers in the field of quality to benefit from the scientific and intellectual resources at SASO and SSQ in a way that benefits everyone.
