After Signing an Agreement with General Directorate of Prisons
SASO Continues its Efforts in the National Strategy Project for Quality
SASO continued its efforts to achieve the Royal vision for the Quality strategy project in 2020, after signing a number of cooperation and partnership agreements with government and private bodies. To continue with this approach, SASO recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Directorate of Prisons, where both His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi and Brig. Gen. Mubarak bin Ghazi Al-Otaibi, Assistant General Manager for Planning and Development, on behalf of Maj. Gen. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Hamzi, the General Manager of prisons, signed the memorandum.
On the sidelines of the agreement, His Excellency the Governor of SASO, called on all government and private bodies to adopt quality standards and applications and disseminate its practices on all administrative and technical operations. He stressed SASO's keenness, as the official umbrella of quality in the kingdom, on proceeding with the activation of quality practices, through effective partnerships, to spread the culture of quality in all areas and with all public and private entities, as part of its strategy towards achieving the national strategy project for Quality, which aims at achieving the Royal vision, which is to make Saudi Arabia a global standard for quality and excellence in 2020.
For his part, Brig. Gen. Mubarak bin Ghazi Al-Otaibi, Assistant General Manager for Planning and Development, on behalf of the General Manager of prisons, expressed his confidence that this agreement will represent an important turning point in the General Directorate of Prisons to proceed with the actual application of quality practices in all procedures and services; especially that the Directorate has recently established a quality management, which is followed by several departments and sections in prisons' regions and branches. He stressed that it would invest qualitative partnership in a way that supports the orientation of specialists and people interested in quality and achieve the vision of the rulers in this regard.
It is scheduled that SASO conducts audits and grants "ISO" certificates to the General Directorate of Prisons. Both parties agreed to cooperate in the field of joint training, educational and research programs in the areas of quality, holding conferences, seminars, discussions, and workshops. They also agreed to exchange scientific publications, programs, plans, media materials and other materials. In addition, they agreed to exert more efforts to share experiences with researchers and specialists, support and encourage scientific activities with universities, associations and relevant establishments as well as give opportunities for scholars and researchers, in the field of quality, to benefit from SASO's scientific and intellectual resources, which serves everyone's interest.
