Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi: Qualitative Initiatives Including Launching Consumer Awareness Programs and Developing Conformity and Safety Marks Models in Coming Period

 
 

     Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, the Governor of SASO, said that developing the work environment at SASO to be attractive, updating the management style and making actual investment in staff are of the most important strategic goals that SASO is working to achieve in order to comply with its values as a technical control system based on professionalism, excellence, creativity in addition to impartiality and integration with partners.

     This came during the third annual meeting of SASO's officials and employees. During the meeting , the governor reviewed SASO's vision which aims at achieving regional pioneering in the field of standards, measurement and quality in order to improve the standards and quality of products and services to enhance consumer protection and the competitiveness of the national economy. He also mentioned the importance of applying this improvement effectively in real world instead of having only theories and words.

     Dr. Sa'ad Al-Kasabi also discussed the most important strategic initiatives and projects that have been achieved, especially the launch of consumer awareness programs and the development and launch of conformity and safety marks models. Moreover, he reviewed the achievements and efforts of SASO's different branches, bodies and departments.

     His Excellency the governor of SASO also answered different questions of SASO's employees, including those that were about general and private issues, and promised to resolve unsettled problems. He confirmed that SASO's employees are entitled to enjoy a distinctive level of services that facilitate their work at the organization and help them to improve their performance. He also invited everyone to not hesitate to send him, personally, complaints or suggestions and provide constructive criticisms to preserve the spirit of friendliness and love among SASO's employees, which is considered one of its advantage. 

     In his speech, Eng. Ahmad Al-Lyft, the Deputy Governor for Studies and Research, welcomed employees again and asserted that the success SASO has achieved is thanks to Allah first, then the support of the wise leadership and then the efforts of all SASO's employees. He added saying that the responsibility SASO carries towards the conformity of goods  with standards, testing of goods and other work is increasing day by day and needs qualified employees and leaders to continue SASO's journey towards excellence.

     This was also confirmed in the speech of Eng. Abdullah Al-Qahtani, the Deputy Governor for Standards and Laboratories. He indicated that the depth of the responsibility SASO carries is represented in taking care of all products and goods imported to Saudi markets, except drugs and food products, which leads to the increase of challenges. Eng. Al-Qahtani also discussed the work assigned to standards department and laboratories, identifying that SASO seeks to update and improve current laboratories in addition to establishing new ones.

     Participating in the meeting for the first time, Eng. Saud Al-Askar, the Deputy Governor for Quality and Conformity, warned employees against listening to frustrating words and discussions whose propagandists wonder about the benefit of work besides the benefit of mastering and executing it professionally. He advised employees to be in no hurry in reaping the benefits of their work and to be confident that their efforts will not be worthless and that every work has its appropriate appreciation. Eng. Al-Askar also affirmed that youths are the main drive for work at SASO and that leaders are ready to transfer their expertise to them in order to be leaders after them.
