A Spanish expert qualifies 45 from SASO's laboratories staff on uncertainty in accounting
SASO represented in General Department of laboratories organized a training course on uncertainty of measurement , in the headquarter of SASO in Riyadh during the period from 01th to June 03th, 2015. It was as part of the rehabilitation project plan for laboratories credentials in accordance with international standard ISO / IEC 17025: 2005, which aims that SASO's laboratories become an international reference.
Jose from Al-Masader Al-Duwaliyah for Environment & Systems (AMAD) delivered the course. In the course, 45 of SASO laboratories employees from the headquarter, Makkah and the Eastern province branches have participated.
The establishment of that course comes for the importance of educating the laboratory employees about uncertainty in a measurement or test result ,which are fundamental importance for laboratories, their customers, and to all institutions that use these results for the purposes of conformity. The uncertainty account is one of the most basic requirements for the adoption of the tests.
The events course which lasted over three days included on the definition of the concept of uncertainty, accounting and evaluating steps, while the second and the third day dealt with practical application for some of the incoming tests in the field of accreditation, and therefore how to collect the factors affecting the results of the test and how it is calculated through the statistical methods used in the evaluation of measurement data guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement and issued by ILAC organization.
This year, SASO withdrew (3209) samples from a number of goods that are related to health and consumer safety (such as electrical devices, heaters, children's clothes, Ihram clothes, children's toys, motor oil, melamine wares, water pipes). The total number of samples that have been tested in SASO's laboratories are (7280) samples, and (681) devices that have been calibrated in the laboratories of the National Center for Measurement and calibration.
SASO seeks its laboratories to become an arbitral reference for technical procedures relating to the examination and testing of goods and products that fall within its specialty. SASO Labs has seen qualitative leap in creating more specialized laboratories meet the needs of national laboratories such as energy efficiency, thermal insulation, fuel economy and many others.
