For his part, His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Eng. Abdullah Al-Qahtani, clarified that the main purpose of accreditation in the field of health and social care services is to ensure that beneficiaries have access to a high level of quality of services. He continued saying, "Accreditation creates a basic framework for health and social care presenters that stimulates quality improvement continuously."

SASO's governor noted that the Saudi Accreditation Committee cares about developing modern visions and orientations that contribute to meeting the accreditation services and the requirements and needs of conformity assessment bodies and all relevant authorities, and working to improve and develop the activity of accreditation in the Kingdom. He added saying, "We count a lot on the Saudi Accreditation Committee to consolidate confidence in the results of  the services of its accredited bodies, contribute to consumer and environmental protection, and help legislative authorities make decisions related to reliability of results of accredited laboratories. All of these support the national economy, at the end, through providing trade exchange requirements between the Kingdom and other countries at regional and international level.

The workshop witnessed a number of various lectures and events that included launching the new identity of the Saudi Accreditation Committee, reviewing the actual activity of accreditation in the Kingdom and the horizon of international recognition in addition to highlighting the role of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Health care Institutions. The workshop also included discussions on medical laboratories showing requirements for quality and efficiency, and private laboratories and their role in promoting consumer protection.

The Saudi Accreditation Committee is one of the specialized technical committees under SASO. The number of accredited private laboratories in the Kingdom reached 94 labs. The committee aims to enhance quality and conclude mutual recognition agreements among accreditation bodies in other countries to support confidence in conformity certificates and unify its standards.
