Technical Cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Turkey in The Field of Specifications and Standards
SASO has signed a program for technical cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) , under which the mutual understanding is promoted for the development of standards in both countries. In addition, exchanging information and data in various fields of standardization between the two sides, His Excellency, the Governor of SASO, Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, has confirmed that. He has clarified that the program signed , would allow Saudi and Turkish sides to consolidate the ties of joint work in various areas of standardization.
His Excellency the Governor of SASO, has stated that the program will contribute effectively to the development of SASO's technichal possibilities in the fields of standardization, quality and conformity assessment systems. In addition, to benefit from the experiences of the Turkish specifications Institute as well as to contribute to the training of SASO's employees and developing their skills.
Dr. Saad Al Kasabi and a number of SASO's officials have greeted the delegation of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the chairmanship of Mr. Sabahattin Korkmaz - President of the Institute, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Institute Mr. Mohammed Bozdemir. At the meeting, they discussed the cooperation between the two sides on issues of common interest in the different fields of standardization. It was also, during this visit, signing a technical cooperation program in the fields of standardization between the two sides.
It is noteworthy that SASO has had intensive efforts during the last period to activate technical cooperation programs with counterparts to raise the level of standardization and conformity services in the Kingdom. Furthermore, those efforts to promote protection and safety ways for consumer and the reduction of non-conforming commodities trading.
