SASO Launches Laboratory Information Management System "LIMS"
His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, has inaugurated laboratory information management system " LIMS ", in a ceremony held at SASO's headquarter in Riyadh. That was in the presence of a number of officials and employees of SASO.
His Excellency the Governor of SASO has explained, during the system inauguration, that this project is one of the most vital projects supporting the transformation into an electronic work environment in SASO's laboratories. SASO receives samples from Customs Department, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and others to be tested and to ensure conformity with the Saudi standards. SASO's laboratories deal with private companies , factories and laboratories that wish to examine different samples for the purpose of compliance with the Saudi standard specifications or to obtain a quality label. He noted that " LIMS " allows SASO to provide services to partners and customers through an integrated electronic environment, considering the inauguration of "LIMS" system an important shift in the speed and efficiency of the service provided to beneficiaries.
The Vice- Governor of Standards and laboratories, Eng. Abdullah A. Al-Gahtani, said that laboratories' information management system is an electronic system designed to help managing , monitoring and tracking sampling procedures in the laboratory. That includes the workflow of main samples tests; collecting, tabulating, registration , receiving and entering samples' results.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, his excellency the Governor and his Deputy , have thanked the IT teamwork at SASO for their efforts of managing and accomplishing the project characteristically. In addition, they thanked the staff of SASO's labs for their cooperation for the project success.
