SASO Signs a Program of Cooperation with the Tunisian Accreditation Council (TUNAC)

      SASO and the Tunisian Accreditation Council (TUNAC) have signed a program of technical cooperation in the field of accreditation; the announcement came during the signing ceremony between the two sides. The ceremony has gathered; his excellency the Governor of SASO, Chairman of the Saudi Accreditation Committee ( SAC),  Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, Director General of the Council, Mr. Anwar bin Abdul Qadir Al Zouari  and a number of officials of the two sides.


      On the sidelines of the signing of which was on Wednesday 4 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1436 AH, corresponding to August 19, 2015 at  SASO's headquarter in Riyadh. Dr. Saad Al Kasabi said: This program aims to exchange information and experiences concerning the activities of conformity assessment between the two sides. He stresses that the Saudi Accreditation Committee will benefit from the experience of the Council to sign the agreements of  mutual international recognition under the umbrella of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation ( ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum ( IFA).


      Dr. Al Kasabi has pointed out that the program allows the Saudi and Tunisian sides to consolidate the ties of joint work of many relevant       areas of accreditation activities. The program also addresses training and developing  the skills of ( SAC) employees and  members of the technical committees of Accreditation.  In addition, it  keeps spreading the  accreditation culture by organizing awareness workshops and seminars for employees and those interested in this field.


      It is stated that SAC, under the umbrella of SASO andwhich is concerned with accreditation activities in the Kingdom, is witnessing, during the last period, intensive efforts through activating technical cooperation with many counterparts and developing  its administrative and technical procedures. The reason behind that is to raise the level of accreditation services of conformity assessment authorities in the Kingdom to promote consumer protection , strengthen the national economy and  reduce  trading  non-conforming commodities, through the accreditation of  conformity assessment authorities.
